Kremlin on easing oil sanctions: US and Russia's interests have converged
Russian leader's press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that on the issue of the US lifting sanctions on Russian oil transported by tankers, the interests of Moscow and Washington "situationally coincided," Interfax reports .

«In this case, we see the actions of the United States — an attempt to stabilize energy markets, and in this regard, our interests coincide. We heard statements from US representatives that this exception is indeed made for oil already loaded before March 12. But there was also a statement that, in general, the US does not plan to lift any further oil sanctions against Russia,» Peskov said, adding: «Therefore, at this moment, our interests indeed situationally coincide — that's exactly how we assess it.»
On March 12, the US lifted sanction restrictions for 30 days on the purchase of Russian oil and petroleum products transported by sea tankers.
