The US has sent Iran a 15-point plan to end the war in the Middle East, writes The New York Times, citing two officials.
This plan reflects the US President Donald Trump's administration's desire to find a way out of the conflict amidst the struggle with its economic consequences. The plan addresses Iran's ballistic missile and nuclear programs, as well as maritime routes.
The newspaper notes that it is still unclear how widely the plan has been circulated among Iranian officials and whether Iran will accept it as a basis for negotiations.
It is also unknown whether it is supported by Israel, which, along with the United States, began an operation against Iran in late February.
