"John Wick Is Coming For You." American Smashed His Tesla, Found It In Belarus A Year Later — And Could Control It Remotely
American Andrew Tran gained remote control over a car located in Grodno. The company that sells wrecked cars from the USA to Belarus did not disconnect the vehicle from the former owner's Tesla account, writes Hrodna.life.

Andrew was able to see the exact location of his former car — the Tesla Model 3 was found on Grandzitskaya Street in Grodno.
"Last year, my old car was totaled. My account was never unlinked from it… Today I received an email that the car was subscribed to Premium Connectivity. I checked – and it's in… Belarus," he wrote on Threads.
Tesla's Premium Connectivity service costs $9.99 per month and allows users to access improved maps and navigation, security and surveillance features, as well as stream music and videos directly to the car.
Andrew noticed that thanks to the uncancelled account, he could open and close the car doors, roll down windows, honk, turn headlights on and off. And all this while being 9700 kilometers away from his old car.

"Dude, don't mess with these guys. Remember, John Wick was a child of Belarus."
Threads users immediately started giving him advice on how to prank the new car owner.
Some suggested turning the seat heater to maximum, others — to enable "party mode". There were suggestions to limit the car's speed or to play the songs "Pahonia" and "We Will March in Solid Rows" at full volume.
But most advised him to simply be a decent person, remove the car from his account, and not bother the new owner.
Some used the meme about the popular Keanu Reeves character.
"Dude, don't mess with these guys. Remember, John Wick was a child of Belarus."
"If you really want to do something with that car, remember that John Wick is actually from Belarus."
"John Wick is coming for you."
The American was also explained that such journeys of wrecked American cars are a common occurrence.
"The American concept of 'totaled' means 'slightly damaged, repairable' in other countries," a comment stated. Meaning, if repairing a car in the USA is economically unfeasible, and it's cheaper to buy a new one, then in Belarus, given the significantly lower labor costs, a wrecked car is not so difficult to bring back to life. And if the car was insured, it's even more certain that it won't be repaired in America — the insurance company will simply sell it at auction.
"Pass on my thanks to the new owner."
Soon Andrew updated his post:
"I have already removed the car from my account. I was only concerned because my account was used for a subscription I didn't agree to. Other than canceling the subscription, I didn't control anything else remotely," the American assured.
Overall, he is very happy that his old car has found a new life. He once named it Nova, after a character from the StarCraft computer game.
"It was a beloved car that I wanted to buy for so long, and it was with me through joy and sorrow. I drove it across America twice, from the ocean to the mountains, from deserts to snows."
Andrew asked Threads users, if they find the new owner, to thank him for giving the car a new lease of life.
