Rumours spread that Belarusians were forbidden to collect birch sap. The Ministry of Forestry explained

The Ministry of Forestry stated that information circulating online about an alleged ban on collecting birch sap for the public does not correspond to reality.

“As before, citizens have the right to independently engage in self-harvesting of sap – this is stipulated in the Forest Code of the Republic of Belarus. For this, it is necessary to contact the nearest forestry, where they will advise you on suitable areas for harvesting and the specifics of sap collection,” the message says.

In addition, ready-made birch sap can be purchased at affordable prices at special retail outlets, as well as on the territory of forestries and forest districts.
