The female raccoon, who arrived in Belarus from the USA in a sea container, has found a potential groom. This was reported on STB by Ekaterina Chernyak, a veterinarian at the animal park in Baranovichi.
“She doesn't let anyone close, but we are slowly working on it. Her favorite food is meat; she is getting used to fruits and porridges,” says Ekaterina Chernyak.
The fact that Senya turned out to be a female has not affected her living conditions. Only the entry in her new passport will change. Now they are choosing a name. “Further plans include uniting her with a male named Maxim. We will plan to obtain offspring from them,” the veterinarian said.
The raccoon arrived in Belarus from the USA in a sea container. He was on the road for about a month, but raccoons can hibernate to conserve energy, so the animal survived without food. Initially, Senya was in quarantine at the Oshmyany district veterinary station, after which she moved to the animal park in Baranovichi.
