President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the priority task for Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov is to close the sky, which involves creating Ukraine's own air defense system, Ukrinform reports .

— The issue is air defense. Either the US will give us a license for Patriot, or we will get a license from one of the European partners, or Ukraine will have its own air defense system that will appear sooner. We must not abandon any of these approaches. But what will happen first — we will see. Mykhailo [Fedorov], together with the air defense commander, the entire private sector, must focus on this issue. Mykhailo visited the entire private sector and talked with them. He prepared a report for me. We will take steps regarding air defense, missile production — you will see them. This reformatting is primarily because we simply have no other way, — said Zelenskyy.
According to him, Ukraine should have several hundred air defense systems, because "the war will end, but the number of idiots on the other side will not decrease."
