Vadzim Mikulich is 38 years old. He is from Mstsislaw. He went to Minsk to study, graduating from the Chemistry Faculty of BSU in 2010. Afterward, he pursued a master's degree, and then a postgraduate degree at the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials of the Academy of Sciences. In 2016, the young scientist successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation in physical chemistry, which was dedicated to thin-film materials for optical devices.
For a long time, Vadzim worked at the Academy of Sciences: first as a junior research fellow, and then simply as a research fellow. There, he was involved in organic synthesis and polymer creation.
In 2018, Vadzim moved to CJSC "Holographic Industry" — a company specializing in the production of holograms and security features for documents. There, he rose from a process engineer to the head of the department for science and innovation.
Outside of work and science, Vadzim is an avid fisherman. In thematic communities, he shared his own experience of feeder fishing, discussed the choice of rods, lines, and bait for tench or grass carp. Vadzim gave useful advice to beginners and generally wrote a lot about his hobby.
The scientist was tried in the Minsk City Court under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code (facilitating extremist activity). The prosecution is related to the Hayun case.
The verdict is restricted freedom without imprisonment.
