Senior Coach of Ukrainian National Artistic Gymnastics Team Secretly Moved to Belarus
Vyacheslav Lavrukhin, the senior coach of the Ukrainian national artistic gymnastics team and honored coach of Ukraine, stopped responding to calls and then suddenly appeared in Belarus, Tribuna reports .

Stella Zakharova, vice-president of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation, announced Lavrukhin's relocation.
"He was the senior coach of the national team. The federation did everything possible and impossible to recommend him for this position and in no way lose one of the leading coaches, giving him the opportunity to work. But Lavrukhin left for the aggressor country, and I condemn this."
"This should not happen at all; he should be barred from Ukraine for life. This is a shameful act," she says.
According to Zakharova, Lavrukhin simply disappeared one day: "We wrote, we called, but he didn't answer. And after that, he suddenly appeared in Belarus."
Lavrukhin had the right to leave Ukraine because he is over 60 years old.
"We don't have laws to retain coaches. We can't do that. We haven't created conditions where coaches would be comfortable working with a decent salary. And if there's a coach who wants to deliver results but is on a salary of 20,000 [hryvnia] (about 400 euros - Ed.), then excuse me. If he was offered 5,000 euros, what should he be?"
"We are now facing a problem where soon there will be no one to work. We are losing our coaching potential. If the ministry pays such a salary, it will never retain coaches. That's the problem," Zakharova said.
Former Ukrainian gymnast and current coach Ihor Radivilov also commented on the situation. Lavrukhin had been his coach for a long time.
"We worked together for over 20 years. But for the last six months, we had no contact, and I only found out about this when he had already moved. I myself was shocked because I didn't know his thoughts or plans. Were there any warning signs? No, we didn't even talk about such topics; we worked for the benefit of the country our whole lives. I didn't even think about such a thing. I can't say anything. This is his decision. It was unexpected for me," Radivilov said.
Lavrukhin is an honored coach of Ukraine. He is best known for his work with Radivilov – a bronze medalist at the 2012 Olympic Games, and multiple medalist at European and World Championships.
