Hostage-taking and Torture: Belarusian to be Tried in Zakopane for Kidnapping
The Zakopane City Prosecutor's Office has forwarded a criminal case to the court against a Belarusian and a Pole, who are accused of kidnapping and severely torturing a 24-year-old man. According to the investigation, in September 2025, the criminals kidnapped and severely abused him, attempting to extort money.

According to the Polish Prosecutor's Office, the victim was held in the basement of a building in Zakopane, where he was beaten, gagged, and handcuffed to heating pipes. Later, the kidnappers began transporting their victim to various cities in Poland, including Gdańsk and Gdynia. They demanded a ransom from the boy's family.
The young man only managed to escape thanks to a lucky chance: taking advantage of the criminals' inattention, he managed to send a message to his mother, after which she contacted the police.
During the arrest, in the vehicle of the suspects — 36-year-old Belarusian Aliaksei T. and 30-year-old Pole Adrian S. — law enforcement found a whole array: firearms, drugs, and plastic zip ties, which were used to tie the victim's hands.
In addition to the main charge of hostage-taking, the Belarusian is also charged with illegal possession of weapons, while his accomplice is charged with possession of psychotropic substances.
Currently, both accused are in custody. According to Polish law, for hostage-taking involving severe suffering, they face a severe penalty — from 5 to 25 years of imprisonment.

> не ‘ў Закапанэ’, а ‘ў Закапаным’
А вось гэта цікава. Бо нават самі палякі гавораць "w Zakopanem", а не "w Zakopane".
