A military diplomat from France has been officially accredited in Belarus, BelTA reports . This refers to Brigadier General Jérôme Mallard, who has become the defense attaché at the French Embassy in Belarus (while his main residence is in Moscow).

On this occasion, a meeting took place at the Department of International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus. During the conversation, the parties reportedly discussed a number of important issues, including the situation in the sphere of international security and the general military-political situation in Eastern Europe.
The Belarusian side also provided its assessment of the current state of relations with France in the military sphere and outlined its vision for further cooperation. The French representative, in turn, noted that he was satisfied with the Belarusian side's readiness for dialogue and openness in discussing issues.
Currently, military representatives from about ten NATO member countries, as well as Switzerland, are accredited with the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
