Five Thousand Roses and New Eco-Paths: How the Partyzanski District of the Capital Will Change This Spring
A large-scale landscaping season is beginning in the Partyzanski district of Minsk. According to Vitaly Veselov, director of the local «Zelyanbud» (Greenery Construction), this year the main focus will be on creating zones for quiet recreation and expanding the network of ecological routes within the Slepian water system, reports «Minsk-News».

New Routes for Walks
The district plans to equip two new ecological paths. The first will run from Staletava Street to the Children's Railway, and the second — within Staletava Street, Kazlova Lane, and Dauhabrodskaya Street. On these sections, the path surfaces will be renovated and modern garden furniture will be installed. The projects are being developed with minimal intervention in the natural environment.
Flower Cascades and Perennial Plants
Central streets and road dividers will be decorated with petunia planters, creating the effect of flower cascades.
«Zelyanbud» is gradually moving away from annual flowers in favor of perennial plants, which retain their beauty for several seasons.
Special attention will be given to roses: following positive feedback from Minsk residents last summer, the number of planted bushes will be increased to 5,000 (last year it was 4,000).
Decorative Shrubs and Trees
For landscaping industrial zones and parks, 4,000 decorative shrubs, including barberry and cotoneaster, have already been purchased. Maples, ashes, and lindens will also be planted in the district. These species are well-suited to the local climate, provide dense shade, and effectively purify the air.
Residents of the district are invited to join the greening efforts during community workdays (subbotniks).
