Lists of professions eligible for early retirement updated. They have significantly shrunk
Belarus has updated the lists of professions that grant the right to early professional pension for work in harmful and hazardous conditions. The new rules will come into force on July 1, 2026, according to the press service of the Ministry of Labour.

There are two lists. The first includes the most hazardous types of work – for example, underground work or work with particularly difficult conditions. The second includes work with harmful, but less hazardous conditions. Previously, lists approved back in 2005 were used.
The new lists have removed professions that are no longer in use or did not confirm their harmfulness according to workplace condition inspections. Also, some specialties (15 positions) were moved from the first list to the second, as they turned out to be less hazardous than previously thought.
The structure of the lists was also changed: some sections were abolished, and professions were distributed more precisely by type of production. In addition, the names of professions and working conditions were brought into line with modern directories, and the formulations were clarified to avoid misinterpretations.
In total, more than 800 professions and positions that the authorities deemed no longer relevant were excluded from the lists.
For employees, this means that existing workplace certifications remain valid until their expiration and do not need to be redone. If a profession remains in the updated lists, the right to an early pension is retained.
