CIA used secret "Ghost Murmur" tool to rescue pilot in Iran. It catches the weakest human body signals
The CIA used the secret "Ghost Murmur" tool to search for a downed pilot in Iran, writes The New York Post, citing its sources.

The technology reportedly uses long-range quantum magnetometry to detect the electromagnetic footprint of a human heartbeat and matches this data with AI-based software to isolate this footprint from background noise.
It is noted that the name was not chosen by chance. Murmur is a medical term referring to a heart rhythm, and Ghost means searching for a person who "has essentially disappeared," explained one of the journalists' interlocutors. However, it is unknown whether the device has additional offensive applications in military settings.
"Ghost Murmur" was applied in the field for the first time. As NYP notes, US President Donald Trump and CIA Director John Ratcliffe hinted at this during a briefing.
"It's like hearing a voice in a stadium, only the stadium is a thousand square miles of desert. Under the right conditions, if your heart is beating, we will find you," an interlocutor familiar with the program told The New York Post.
According to NYP, the device called Ghost Murmur was developed at Lockheed Martin's secret Skunk Works division, which specializes in aerospace and military technologies.
The system has already been tested on Black Hawk helicopters, and in the future, it may also be used on F-35 fighter jets. The first tests were conducted in the desert areas of Iran, as there are almost no electromagnetic interferences there, which creates ideal conditions for such technologies.
The device is reported to be capable of picking up very weak signals from the human body — so weak that previously they could only be recorded in laboratory conditions. But thanks to modern developments, particularly quantum magnetometers and special sensors based on synthetic diamonds, it became possible to detect these signals at a significant distance.
This technology played a key role during the operation to find the downed pilot: it helped roughly determine his location. An emergency beacon was then used for precise localization, and together these systems allowed the person to be found.
US representatives note that the operation used unique technologies not possessed by other special services. The operation itself is compared to finding a single grain of sand in the desert.
According to statements by Donald Trump, this was one of the most daring rescue operations in US history. It involved dozens of aircraft and special units, and the operation itself was conducted with air cover.
