Security forces came to the home of writer Sasha Filipenka in Belarus over the "EHU case". He spoke about this on the "Morning with Belsat" broadcast.
According to Sasha Filipenka, security forces sometimes visit his home and bother his relatives.
"The last time, for some reason, they came to me in connection with the fact that I also studied at EHU. Probably, they wanted to find out what exactly I did at EHU, although I only completed the first year at EHU (when EHU was in Minsk), and then it was closed," the writer said.
Security forces also apply repression for his literary work: "Allegedly, a second case (criminal case against Filipenka) is due to an interview where I talked about 'The Elephant' (a book by Filipenka), and since 'The Elephant' is 'extremist,' it seems I cannot talk about my books."
The writer adds that, besides searches, security forces also use other forms of pressure: "It seems to me that this is not just my personal story; thousands and thousands of Belarusians are now in this story. In this sense, nothing new is happening to me."
The writer says that it is unpleasant, but Belarusians live as if in surrealism.
"When you start talking to relatives about how it was, how the new search went, I remember my mother saying: 'Oh, well, this time it was a good search,' — noted Filipenka.
