Forensic experts helped uncover a theft from a dacha in the agro-town of Yuryeva in the Smolevichi district thanks to an unusual detail — a trace on a candy wrapper.

A report of theft was received by the police: an unknown person broke a window and entered the house, taking food and alcohol from there.
During the inspection of the crime scene, an expert found a bag of sweets on the chest of drawers and an empty wrapper next to it. A fingerprint was found on it.

Upon checking the database of the State Forensic Examination Committee, it was found that this print belonged to a local resident born in 1969.
Following this, law enforcement officers detained the suspect and part of the stolen property was returned. A criminal case was initiated regarding the theft.
