It is reported that a woman who previously helped at the monastery set fire to a private house on St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk Street — this street is located next to the building of the Polotsk Diocese and the monastery. Sisters, novices, and workers live in these houses.
Reportedly, one of the novices, originally from Vitebsk, became the victim. It is claimed that she managed to call the Ministry of Emergency Situations herself and summon help, but she could not be saved.
The woman who committed the arson also previously worked at the monastery and possibly had a mental disorder.
