Orsha Meat Processing Plant to be Merged with Agrokombinat "Dzyarzhynski"
The loss-making Orsha Meat Processing Plant is planned to be merged with the successful Agrokombinat "Dzyarzhynski". This decision was made at a meeting with the participation of Alexander Lukashenka and the government, writes Office Life.

According to Lukashenka, previous attempts to bring the enterprise out of crisis were unsuccessful, although significant state funds had already been invested in it. Therefore, it was decided to transfer the plant to a stronger structure. It is assumed that "Dzyarzhynski" will receive the raw material base it needs and will simultaneously work on the rehabilitation of the problematic plant. At the same time, it has not yet been determined what will be done with the enterprise's debts.
At the same meeting, the problems of the cement industry were also discussed. Lukashenka criticized the government's new proposals for debt restructuring, reminding that a large-scale modernization of plants had already been carried out earlier at great expense, and debt repayment had been stretched until 2049. He noted that, despite this, the industry still does not fully supply the domestic market, and cement for export is sold significantly cheaper than domestically.
The proposal for financial support for the Svetlogorsk Pulp and Cardboard Mill also drew criticism. The discussion was about allocating its payments to the national development fund as credit repayment. However, according to estimates, part of these funds exists only on paper and is not backed by real money.
As a result, it was decided to refine the documents on these issues. The government noted that new decisions might be adopted in the near future, including more systematic approaches to financing through state funds.
