Belarus wants to create a "sovereign Instagram" — the social network YALINK, "adapted for Belarus and independent of other external threats."
Belarus is developing an analog of Instagram, said the author of the idea Yan Hulevich to the publication Times.by. He himself has an Instagram account with an ambitious entry in his profile: "Creator of the best IT project in the CIS".
— We are launching our social network YALINK, adapted for Belarus and independent of other threats like "now we will disconnect and block all of you." The platform will not just be a "beautiful feed for content," but a smart business profile. [...] Our social network will be without imposed traffic. If you didn't specify "cars" in your interests list, the system will not show you this content. Not even under the guise of "you might like it." Only what you subscribed to yourself. No algorithmic intrusiveness," says Hulevich.
The application will not be uploaded to the AppStore or Play Market. It is suggested to install it directly from the browser.
How similar the domestic social network will be to Instagram and who will need it is not yet clear.
