Ukraine Assured That the US Continues to Provide Intelligence

The US continues to provide intelligence information to Ukraine. The delay in announcing the air raid alert during the night attack on Kyiv on October 13 was related to the peculiarities of the weaponry used by Russia. This was stated by Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha at the Warsaw Security Forum.

«You ask if we receive intelligence information from the American side? Yes, we continue this cooperation. Indeed, during last night's attack, the alarm was declared with a delay. But this is due to a special type of weapon used by the Russian side,» Sybiha said.

Earlier on October 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that during the night attack, five Russian ballistic missiles hit civilian infrastructure in Kyiv. According to him, partners did not warn Ukraine about this strike, although such intelligence data «helps save people's lives, and this is one of the most critical issues».

Zelenskyy also stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not been attacking Russian oil refineries and energy facilities for two days after US President Donald Trump announced an energy truce. Meanwhile, Russia continues to strike at Ukraine's energy infrastructure. During the same period, attacks affected 19 regions of the country.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that they did not receive information in advance about the missile strike being prepared for the night of October 13.

«Ballistic targets were detected by radar directly during the attack on Kyiv. Information about launches from enemy territory was not received,» the Ukrainian military reported.

Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat noted that sometimes data on the activity of Russian strategic aviation at airfields do not reach the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to technical reasons.

Earlier, sources of the Financial Times, familiar with the situation, reported that during negotiations with Ukraine, Washington, at Trump's command, demanded a halt to attacks on Russian oil refineries. In case of refusal, the US threatened to stop the exchange of intelligence information.

Trump's envoys emphasized that Washington remains a reliable partner for Kyiv and that Ukrainian authorities should not take steps that could harm American consumers. Earlier, Trump stated that strikes on Russian oil refineries contribute to rising fuel prices in the US.
