In Vilnius, former head of elite police unit shot European kickboxing vice-champion — because he was urinating near the house
The retired law enforcement officer was released home until trial.

A murder is being investigated in Vilnius, which occurred on the evening of October 9 in the yard of a house on Savanorių Avenue. A man born in 1981 sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and died on the spot. According to Delfi news outlet, the deceased is named Vincas Jašmantas, and he previously bore the surname Danisevičius.
Jašmantas was involved in kickboxing, achieving clear successes: in 2016 he won a silver medal at the European Championship, and in 2017 he became the champion of Lithuania. He also served in the army and was a senior scout in the "Iron Wolf" battalion. However, he later left the service after an accusation of rape, for which he was sentenced to five and a half years of imprisonment.
The suspect in the murder, according to Delfi, is Rolanadas N. — the former head of the organized crime unit of the Vilnius police. He served in the police for over 20 years, and the unit he led specialized in combating drug trafficking.
According to the preliminary version, the conflict may have started after Jašmantas urinated near the house, and Rolanadas N. reprimanded him.
As an eyewitness reported, a fight broke out between the men and several shots were fired. The weapon used for the fatal shot was legally owned by the suspect. The exact circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
