Zelenskyy: Russia's disrespect for the US has never been so demonstrative
After the night attack, at least 600,000 people were left without electricity. The President of Ukraine stated that Russia demonstratively ignores the energy truce announced by Trump and asked the American president to impose strong sanctions and provide Ukraine with additional Patriot missiles.

On the night of October 14, Russia used 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions against Ukrainian energy and critical infrastructure. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast, and Kharkiv were under attack.
"A targeted Russian ballistic strike specifically on energy infrastructure, regarding which the US president announced a ceasefire. The strike is absolutely conscious and demonstrative in its scale — such demonstrative disrespect from Russia towards America has not been seen before," he stated.
According to the President of Ukraine, facilities and equipment were damaged at 26 elements of the electric power complex and four oil and gas complex facilities. At least 600,000 people were left without electricity, and outages may expand. There are dead and wounded, but their number was not specified in the appeal.
Zelenskyy called on the USA and other countries to react harshly to the attack.
"Russia squandered the opportunity for de-escalation and clearly chose to continue its insane war of destruction. We ask President Trump to impose strong sanctions against Russia," he said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine cannot be left alone to face Russian aggression.
"Peace can only come through strength, and we ask America to remember this Reaganite principle," Zelenskyy stated.
