As the court established, the man received money for promoting the interests of several companies when concluding contracts for the supply of products.
With the money received as a bribe, the man took his wife to Thailand. The tour for two alone cost no less than 180 thousand rubles (about 60 thousand dollars).
In court, the accused fully admitted guilt. He was sentenced to seven years in a high-security penal colony and a fine of 1000 basic units — 45 thousand rubles. Another 3000 dollars were confiscated in favor of the state.
The verdict has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.
