Minsk resident Miroslav complained on social media that he hadn't been to a wedding in a long time — but he really wants to. He asks strangers to invite him to their celebration. He promised to give $500, support any toasts, and, if necessary, is even ready to get involved in family disputes.
There were several invitations, and some girls wrote that they would gladly be a "+1" for the guy, as they also want to attend a wedding party. Even Galina Korsak, the owner of the French bakery chain Brioche, responded: "Aaaaaaaa! I also haven't been to a wedding in ages! Take me with you!".
It unexpectedly turned out that for everyone who dreams of partying but doesn't have friends getting married at the registry office, fake weddings are organized in Belarus. This is done by the banquet center "Komarovo Village."
Their next theatrical wedding is scheduled for May 30. True, the theme is quite specific — "Wedding in the USSR." They promise thematic photo zones and decorations, contests, and music. A dress code in this style is also required. And they recommend remembering that you are going to a wedding, not a disco.
The menu includes — herring under a fur coat, sauerkraut, cutlets, fish in batter, and other culinary delights of that era. Alcohol is limited — 100 grams of liqueur and 100 grams of champagne per person (but you can bring your own or buy more at the bar on site).
Only adults can participate. Who you will be at the wedding — a bride, a witness, or the wife of a collective farm chairman — is unknown beforehand. Everything is decided on the spot through a drawing of lots. The drawing is done separately for guys, girls, and couples.
The celebration runs from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM. And participation costs 130 rubles per person (they request a prepayment of 30 rubles).
