In 2025, 19 thousand foreigners received Polish citizenship, including 6.5 thousand citizens of Belarus. Such statistics were announced in the Sejm by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, writes Most.

These data include both those who were recognized as Polish citizens (such a decision is made by the voivode) and those who received citizenship by decision of the president.
Belarusians are the second-largest group of foreigners who receive Polish citizenship.
Ukrainians are in first place. Last year, 10 thousand citizens of that country received Polish passports. Russians follow Belarusians with a large gap (759 people).
Most often, foreigners of Polish origin who previously held a Pole's Card apply for recognition as Polish citizens.
Of the 19 thousand people who became Polish citizens in 2025, 5 thousand were minors included in their parents' applications.
Currently, a campaign is underway in Poland to strengthen the conditions for recognizing Polish citizens.
