According to the new rules, every new rental apartment must be equipped with furniture and basic household appliances. The list includes a refrigerator with a freezer, a washing machine, and a microwave oven. The appliances must be of Belarusian production.
New norms also cover apartment finishing. Bathrooms and toilets must be fully tiled. Living rooms are to have laminate or parquet flooring, and walls must either be painted or wallpapered.
The document also specifies the maximum cost for appliances:
- refrigerator — no more expensive than 30 basic units;
- washing machine — up to 25 basic units;
- microwave oven — up to 9 basic units.
The Ministry of Architecture and Construction notes that the main goal of the innovations is to make rental housing more comfortable for living, so that people can move into an apartment immediately after receiving the keys.
In addition, the authorities expect that the new requirements will support Belarusian manufacturers of furniture, household appliances, and building materials.
