Turquoise lake in Luninets district. Footage from "Granit" company's video.
A turquoise lake has appeared in Luninets district — at the site where sand is extracted for the construction of a new bridge over the Pripyat river between Luninets and Stolin districts.
The lake's depth is about 8 meters, and kaolin rocks give the water its bright turquoise hue.
A video with the new lake was published by the "Granit" company, whose excavator is working there.
Similar turquoise reservoirs in the country exist at chalk quarries — for example, near Vaukavysk (they are called "Belarusian Maldives") and near Liuban.
The new bridge over the Pripyat is planned to open in 2027. This will be the shortest route between Stolin and Luninets, accessible year-round.
