The organizers of the historical reconstruction festival «Our Grunwald» announced that in 2026, the event, which traditionally was supposed to take place at the end of July at the «Dudutki» museum complex, will not be held.
This is the first such instance in the last sixteen years, as the festival has been continuously held since 2008.
In their statement, the organizers noted that extensive preparatory work, lasting several months, had been carried out for the festival. However, according to them, circumstances made it impossible to hold the event on the planned dates. They did not specify the reasons for the cancellation.
Currently, the organizing team is considering the possibility of rescheduling the festival to another month. If this is not possible, preparations for the next festival will begin next year. The organizers expressed hope that «Our Grunwald» will definitely return to «Dudutki».
Previously, several other festivals planned for 2026 had already been cancelled in Belarus. This happened after the introduction of a new procedure for organizing cultural and entertainment events. According to the new rules, organizers must be included in a special state register, and a separate tour certificate must be obtained from local authorities for each concert or festival. Because of this, the opportunities for private organizers to hold such events have significantly decreased.
