Banned Western Goods Sold in Minsk's Expobel

The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade revealed facts of sales of products banned by the authorities in the Expobel shopping and entertainment center. The inspection, as reported, was conducted after complaints from visitors online.

Specialists from the main department of the Ministry of Trade for the Minsk region found violations of the requirements of resolutions prohibiting the sale of certain categories of goods in several retail outlets.

Specifically, Nivea brand products were on sale, as well as chocolate and confectionery products of Polish origin.

Among the violators were several individual entrepreneurs and the private enterprise "Service-Ray". This enterprise had previously been held accountable: in February 2026, 63 units of banned goods were removed from sale.

During the current inspection, a total of 127 units of banned products were found, worth over 2000 rubles.

It is reported that administrative responsibility measures will be taken against the business entities.

The ban on Nivea brand products in Belarus was first introduced in the spring of 2021 — at that time, the Council of Ministers adopted the corresponding resolution No. 240 of April 23. The ban on the import of goods from the Liqui Moly, Škoda Auto, and Beiersdorf (which produces Nivea) groups of companies into the country was linked to their refusal to sponsor the Ice Hockey World Championship canceled in Belarus. After that, Belarusian authorities repeatedly banned new groups of Western goods as part of their counter-sanctions.
