"Let me start with the backstory. In the camps, there are several types of prisoners. These are 'blatny' (privileged criminals), activists, 'muzhiki' (men), and low-status. There are almost no 'blatny' left anywhere, especially in camps for first-timers. 'Activists' are prisoners who cooperate with the colony administration for various perks. An article about activists was just published on 'Zerkalo'."

So, the camp in Navapolatsk is very specific and harsh, especially under the former head Palchyk (it turns out he is from Baranavichy, from the apartment block next to mine, what an irony).

Every morning at the headquarters, there was a queue of informers who shared rumors and complaints with the operatives, mainly about political prisoners, but not only.

Palchyk built his system of activists, everything worked like clockwork. But after Palchyk got so carried away with sadism that he was even written about in "SB" and exiled to manage a detention center with 5 cells in the Vitsebsk pre-trial detention center, the head changed. Mashadzieve came and began to break this system of informers, supply managers, and all the "goats" (informers) under him.

The tension between the permissiveness of activists and such an atmosphere, with constant tightening of the screws, grew, and as always happens when a spring is compressed too tightly, one day it straightens. This is what happened in the autumn of 2025.

One of the most hated activists in Navapolatsk was a prisoner named Ivanov. And on day X, he was doused with urine. Accordingly, this automatically meant a long-established system of transfer to "low status," or as they say in the zone, "to the roosters." Accordingly, you cannot have any dealings with him, you cannot touch him, you cannot take anything from his hands. And of course, you cannot sit at the same table.

The colony administration did nothing, they did not assign him low status, because he was their activist and they had other plans for him. But this served as a trigger. A riot began in the dining room, prisoners began to shout that they would not sit at the same table with him, refusing food. That's how it all started.

What did the administration do? They simply put Ivanov in the infirmary. Isolated him from trouble, which has become a tradition in Navapolatsk. But this time, the prisoners said: "No way. He must be in low status." And Ivanov was quietly taken to the hospital at "number three" in Vitsebsk.

And then the guys started making demands regarding all other activists. Because everyone was fed up.

For example, there was a Karlov there, the grandson of the former rector of the Vitsebsk College, I sat with him for 4 months in the PKT (Punishment Cell Type). Even his own "goats" feared him, and in some detachments, pickets were set up against him, just like against cops, when he appeared in the local zone.

And then the movement began. People agreed to go out to local areas at the same time and beat all activists. Karlov, Kolomin, Osipenko, the supply managers of some detachments (specifically the seventh and eighth). The supply managers were beaten.

Some people ran into the detachments and smashed televisions. There is information that even several video cameras were broken.

After this commotion, a large commission from the Department of Penitentiary Enforcement arrived, allegedly even with the head himself, to find out what the demands were and why it happened. They entered every SHIZA (punishment cell) chamber (which had never happened), spoke with some participants for up to six hours, asking how the camp lives and what nonsense was happening there. And also. There was also a riot under the roof (in SHIZA), where every morning several liters of chlorine were poured at your feet, so this chlorine was collected and poured onto the radio points from which several lectures played continuously for 16 hours (I also wrote about this method of torture).

After the commission, the windows in SHIZA were closed for the first time; they had always been open both in winter and summer, to keep the cell constantly cold and drive people mad from the cold.

But "cosmonauts" also came to the camp, rounded up all the most active ones, loaded them into minibuses, and distributed them to other zones. They were given three years of prison regime as a result, and the one who was recognized as the leader was reportedly charged under Article 411 and had his sentence extended. And after that, at least the deputy of RAR Zhurko was transferred to the Kaliadzychy pre-trial detention center."
