The British Cinema Association notes that smart glasses can be useful for people with special needs. Therefore, operators intend to seek a balance between security against piracy and the accessibility of cinemas for people with disabilities.
Attention to such devices in the UK intensified after courts in England and Wales banned the use of Meta smart glasses in courtrooms in August. The restrictions are related to the ability to surreptitiously take photos and videos.
