On July 31, the newly appointed UK Chargé d'Affaires in Belarus, William Langhurst, presented copies of his credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov.

During the meeting, it is reported, the parties discussed the current state of relations between Belarus and the United Kingdom, as well as opportunities for their further development. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated that the conversation took place in an atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding.
William Langhurst has worked in the diplomatic system for over 35 years. During his career, he has served in British diplomatic missions in Japan, South Korea, Cambodia, Serbia, and Switzerland, as well as at the Permanent Representation of the United Kingdom to the UN in New York.
From 2019 to 2024, Langhurst served as Deputy Head of the UK's diplomatic mission in Switzerland. Concurrently, he held the position of British Consul General in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Before Langhurst's appointment, David Ward served as interim head of the British diplomatic mission in Belarus. The United Kingdom currently does not have a full ambassador in Belarus.
