The tragedy occurred on July 31 in Boumerdes province. A bus traveling from the city of Setif on the national highway veered off the road and fell into a ravine, reports the Associated Press.

At least 25 people died, and another 44 were injured.
Some of the injured were taken to Boumerdes University Hospital. Algerian Prime Minister Si-Fih Ghrib personally arrived there to familiarize himself with the situation and the condition of the victims.
Rescuers and a search team are working at the accident site. The reasons why the bus veered off the road are still being investigated.
