The President of Ukraine wrote about this on his Telegram channel, commenting on Russia's night attack on Kyiv, which resulted in nine deaths and three dozen injuries.
«Last night, Russians launched 35 missiles at Ukraine, 27 of which were ballistic, as well as 185 attack drones of various types. Kyiv was the main target. In addition, strikes were carried out on Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions.
Tonight, only one ballistic missile could be shot down, as there are no missiles for Patriot systems. And precisely such a shortage of anti-missiles for intercepting ballistic targets only encourages Russia to carry out such strikes that take human lives,» Zelenskyy wrote.
The President of Ukraine added that it is important for partners to hear: these assets are not needed somewhere in warehouses «in case of possible scenarios,» but here and now, so that the Russian war can be contained and stopped in Ukraine.
«Every aid package with anti-ballistic means saves the lives of our people. And every night they are absent leads to new casualties,» added Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
