Minsk Woman Took Phones from Acquaintances to Make Calls and Took Out Loans in Their Names
In Minsk, a 28-year-old woman has been detained who, over six months, took out loans in the names of her colleagues and acquaintances. In total, she caused damage amounting to approximately 70,000 rubles.
The woman asked her victims for their smartphones under various pretexts — for example, to make a call via a messenger app or to play a game.
Having gained access to the gadget, she would access a fast lending service, arrange a loan in the phone owner's name, and transfer the money to her own bank cards.
To prevent the people she deceived from suspecting anything, she immediately deleted SMS messages from banks and the application from the phone.
The woman spent most of the stolen funds on bets in online and offline casinos. A criminal case has been initiated.
