«An old person is like an old car». Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz spoke about how he feels after his illness
The 80-year-old hierarch spoke about his condition after being discharged from the hospital. The video address is posted on the YouTube channel of Father Alexander Ulas.
On July 22, Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz was urgently hospitalized in one of Minsk's hospitals due to poor heart examination results. However, almost two weeks of his stay there did not bring significant improvement to his health. Therefore, he was transferred to the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Cardiology, where he underwent an operation to stent the walls of his blood vessels.
«I already say this: an old person is like an old car. No matter how much you 'spruce it up', it's still an old car. It's the same with an old person. First one illness, then another. All my life I was never sick. In recent years, these illnesses have been coming one after another.
Well, right after the Gudagay festival, where I felt very, very good, I had to go for another check-up with the doctors. I went then, they did an electrocardiogram and immediately sent me to the hospital. After that, they inserted several stents and cleaned one of the old stents," — said Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz.
Today he is undergoing rehabilitation in Aksakaushchyna near Minsk.
«I feel good, but even then I felt good, I didn't feel anything hurting. It's just that the doctors didn't like it, they didn't like my cardiogram. Anyway, it's good that this operation was done, because the doctors said it was a pre-heart attack state. I want to thank everyone for your prayers, for your care for me, for remembering me. May the good God bless you, I hope for a speedy recovery and to meet in church, near the altar, in prayer, at various festivals — wherever God permits. Heartfelt thanks," — added the hierarch.
