"Hooliganism with the use of weapons". New incident with a Belarusian volunteer in Ukraine
When he was offered to lay down his weapon and surrender, the Belarusian fired another shot from an automatic rifle. Negotiations with him lasted more than four hours.

In Kharkiv, a native of Minsk, a citizen of Belarus, who serves as a scout in the foreign legion of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, was taken into custody on suspicion of hooliganism involving an automatic rifle and a grenade in a residential building.
The Belarusian was jailed on August 20, but can be released on so-called "personal recognizance" if he pays 266,240 hryvnias bail (almost 6 thousand dollars), writes Radio Svaboda.
The Belarusian volunteer does not admit his guilt. He claims that everything happened in self-defense against unknown individuals who attacked him. His lawyer called the suspicion unfounded.
Restrictions on the Belarusian's freedom of movement will be in effect until at least October 18.
The Belarusian serviceman was charged under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism, that is, a gross violation of public order using firearms. He faces three to seven years in prison.
The incident occurred on August 20 in Kharkiv on the ground floor of a two-story residential building in the city's private sector.
According to the case materials, at night, approximately at 01:30, residents heard loud shouts from a man in the entrance, who had an automatic rifle with a loaded magazine and ammunition. Then an explosion occurred, and glass shattered from the windows. It is alleged that the Belarusian supposedly threw a grenade into the entrance. The police were called to the scene.
Representatives of the patrol police arrived, as well as two special units: KORD (Rapid Operational Response Unit of the National Police of Ukraine) and TOR (Tactical Operational Response special unit within the patrol police).
When he was offered to lay down his weapon and surrender, the Belarusian fired another shot from the automatic rifle. Negotiations with him lasted more than four hours. As a result, he removed the magazine from the automatic rifle, placed the weapon on the ground, raised his hands, after which the special forces soldiers detained him.
No other details are known. The weapons found at the scene of the incident — an automatic rifle, 17 cartridges, and a grenade fuse — were recognized as material evidence in the case.
