On September 5, Upper Town in Minsk will once again transform into a Mexican celebration venue. The Mexican Culture Festival on Freedom Square will take place from 12:00 to 22:00. Guests are promised thematic areas, photo zones, master classes, Mexican cuisine, and a concert program.
Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the traditions of Mexico. Various creative and family activities have been prepared for visitors. Master classes will demonstrate how traditional piñatas are made, introduce the art of printmaking, and offer participants the chance to create their own vibrant Mexican-style masks.
From September 5 to 11, the Vankovichi House will host the photo exhibition "Mexico: People, Soul, and Traditions." It will feature works by 16 Mexican female photographers who, through their images, showcase the life, celebrations, customs, and cultural heritage of their country.
A separate part of the program will be dedicated to Mexican cuisine. Minsk chef Artem Raketsky will conduct a culinary master class, after which guests can taste a Mexican-style fruit salad with hot pepper. The first to try it will be guests wearing sombreros or traditional Mexican attire.
The food court will offer birria and al pastor tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos with guacamole, Mexican corn with lime and chili. For dessert — churros and ice cream with unusual flavors: avocado and lime, mango with smoked chipotle pepper, as well as the traditional tres leches dessert. Beverages available will include tepache and a hibiscus drink.
A grand concert will begin at 20:00. Musical and dance ensembles will perform on stage, and mariachi will be the main musical highlight of the evening.
The festival theme will also continue in the "Bulbashi" restaurants on Freedom Square and Herzen Street. On September 5 and 6, they will offer a special menu with Mexican motifs: draniki (potato pancakes) with guacamole and smoked Vitebsk trout, duck quesadillas, tacos with mashed potatoes and beef.
