Traffic opens on Polotsk — Lepel road after reconstruction

The Ministry of Transport announced the completion of the reconstruction of the 60-kilometer section of the R-46 Lepel — Polotsk — Russian border (Yukhavichy) highway, which connects Polotsk and Lepel.

After reconstruction, the road meets the second technical category. Its bearing capacity has been increased to 11.5 tons.

During the works, more than 417 thousand tons of asphalt concrete were laid on the road, 30 kilometers of barrier fencing and 47 kilometers of mesh for protection against wild animals were installed.

In addition, 54 bus stops were equipped on the renovated section, 5 kilometers of sidewalk were laid, and a traffic monitoring and video surveillance system was implemented.

After the completion of the reconstruction, traffic on the road between Polotsk and Lepel is open.
