A Young Belarusian Didn't Want to Serve Time in Russia for Drugs, So He Figured Out How to Quickly Get Out of the Colony — And Ended Up on Ukrainian Positions Near Pokrovsk
Aliaksandr Savitski from the Glusk district was meant to celebrate his 20th birthday beyond the Arctic Circle — in one of the colonies in Russian Labytnangi. The young man had just begun to live when he was sentenced to six years in a strict-regime colony for drug drops in Russia. Unwilling to accept his fate, Savitski signed up for the 'V' assault squad for convicts. And then, as with everyone else.
Aliaksandr Savitski was born on August 16, 2004. He did not study at universities, tried to earn a living himself — by distributing drug drops in Russia, which led to his downfall.
He received six years of strict regime and went to serve his sentence in colony No. 8 'White Bear' in the city of Labytnangi. By the way, Alexey Navalny was killed in the neighboring colony No. 6 'Polar Wolf'.
The colony is located beyond the Arctic Circle, and the weather there differs greatly from Glusk's. Aliaksandr could not endure the conditions and did not reconcile with the term, so he informed his relatives about his desire to get out of prison by joining the occupation army and — disregarding their dissuasions — signed up for the 'V' assault squad of military unit 38643.
Savitski was taken as a rifleman-assistant to a grenadier, which in practice means a role in a disposable assault group.
Such groups are formed with a large margin, because only a minority of those sent reach Ukrainian positions (if they reach at all) — through mines and drones. Those who make it are finished off by machine guns, which are remotely controlled from underground.
And so, Aliaksandr stopped communicating after being sent to assault as part of such a group in August.
Now, his relatives, whom the young man did not listen to, are trying to find information about the body's whereabouts. It is only known that Aliaksandr disappeared somewhere near the town of Hornyak in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region.
