A Russian drone hit a school building in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district on the morning of October 1. A fire broke out, but the children were in a shelter at the time of the strike. According to preliminary information, none of them were injured.

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported the strike.
"In the Solomianskyi district, a drone hit a school building. There is a fire. The children were in a shelter. Emergency services are heading to the scene," he wrote.
According to preliminary information from the Kyiv City Administration, there are no casualties among the children.
The strike occurred a few minutes before 9 AM, when students were already at school or on their way to classes.
Another Russian drone struck a warehouse building in the same district. Information about possible casualties is unknown.
On September 29, a Russian guided aerial bomb destroyed a school in Sumy, where classes at that time were being held in a shelter.
