In Lithuania, an agreement has been reached on a simplified procedure for the return of detained semi-trailers from Belarus.
The Lithuanian Hauliers Association Linava and Lithuanian Customs have agreed on a temporary simplification of the procedure for returning semi-trailers left in Belarus after the detention of Lithuanian trucks. If Minsk gives permission for their return, Lithuanian trucks will be able to leave the country without semi-trailers in order to pick them up on the Belarusian side, Delfi.lt reports.

President of Linava, Erlandas Mikenas, noted that this decision will help companies to recover their property faster and reduce financial losses.
However, the issue of returning the trucks themselves from Belarus remains unresolved, and the decision on it is not made by the Lithuanian side.
Mikenas emphasized that the main task is to ensure that carriers do not lose their semi-trailers, which are their property and working tools. Together with the customs, they eventually managed to find a mechanism that will stabilize the situation at least in the part that depends on the Lithuanian side.
