According to the investigation, the man allegedly collected information in Berlin for Russian special services since May 2025. It is claimed that he photographed objects he considered important from a military or strategic point of view, and then handed over the images to his handler.
Among such objects are state buildings, official vehicles of politicians, facilities of security forces, military convoys on roads, including equipment from NATO countries, as well as defense industry enterprises involved in the development of drones and robotics.
Investigators note that most of the photos were taken in publicly accessible places, but this does not preclude criminal liability for intelligence activities.
German law enforcement agencies were particularly drawn to information that the suspect allegedly proposed creating a group and committing sabotage on German territory. According to reports, he stated that he was "ready for anything."
The man was arrested on April 28 and brought before a judge, who is to decide on his pre-trial detention.
