In Baranovichi, a creative approach was taken to the opening of the city's main New Year's tree: the lights on it were lit by an elf who climbed to the top using fire engine ladders. A video of this event went viral on social media, writes BelTA.
As Natalya Mikhalchik, head of the culture department of the Baranovichi City Executive Committee, said, the event attracted the attention of not only local residents but also people from outside the city. The musical called "By the Horse's Command," dedicated to the Year of the Horse, has been held in Baranovichi for the third year, and each time it differs from the previous ones. The idea of the performance was formed in creative discussions: characters, costumes, and even the format of Santa Claus's arrival and the lighting of the tree changed.
About 300 people took part in the musical. With the help of artificial intelligence, a horse sculpture near the "Horizon" hotel "came to life" and led Santa Claus to the square.
Firefighters provided the automotive ladders for the elf's ascent, and one of the employees of the local emergency department put on an elf costume, wearing a helmet underneath for safety.

At the culmination, the elf approached the top of the tree, touched the main star, and lit all the lights. This scene was liked by social media users.
The main Christmas tree of Baranovichi, 30 meters high, is assembled from 60 live fir trees, each 3-4 meters high.
