On December 24, partners of Beijing Hotel Minsk received a corresponding letter. This was reported by the Republican Union of Tourist Organizations.
"The operation of the "Beijing" hotel complex (Chyrvonarmiejskaja St., 36) is suspended for the reconstruction of the fire safety system. The operation of the service facility (hotel), as well as all service, retail, and catering facilities, is suspended," states the message, addressed to tourism companies, among others.
On January 1, 2026, the hotel will only accommodate guest check-outs, and from January 2, accommodation will be completely suspended. Bookings for this period have been cancelled, and the website no longer accepts new applications.
Belarusian travel agencies that booked rooms for clients for the New Year holidays have faced serious difficulties: finding an equivalent replacement during the high season is quite challenging.
Even if there are available rooms in other hotels, an additional payment of about 100 dollars per day for a double room will be required — which many tourists are not willing to pay. The situation demands an urgent search for alternatives and negotiations with clients.
