Trump took more than just Whitkoff and Kushner to negotiations with Zelenskyy
Negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are now taking place with a much broader US delegation than before. While in previous stages the dialogue was mainly conducted by Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Trump's special representative Steve Whitkoff, key representatives of the American administration have now joined them.

In addition to Trump himself, Kushner, and Whitkoff, this time the negotiations include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, as well as the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kaine. This indicates that the meeting has a more official and strategic character than usual.
However, US Vice President JD Vance is not participating in the negotiations this time. Previously, during Trump's February meeting with Zelenskyy, which ended in a scandal, he behaved very sharply, accusing the Ukrainian leader of disrespecting the United States and Trump personally.
The closed part of the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump is taking place at a dinner table. Trump asked journalists to leave the room in a rather extravagant style:
“Don't you want something to snack on right now? Yes or no? Can you answer? Yes? Good. Get them out. Tell the chef. Treat them to a little lunch, okay? Thank you, press.”
After the negotiations conclude, a joint press conference with Trump and Zelenskyy is promised.
