Lukashenka called the Ukrainian drone attack on Putin's residence "wildest terrorism." He stated this to journalists in Minsk during a visit to "Horizont," writes BelTA.
"Of course, this is the wildest terrorism at the highest state level. If it's as they are presenting it now," said Alexander Lukashenka.
"I'm just thinking about who needed this, what it could lead to. Well, who needs it — I suspect who is behind Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy. I think that if he was involved in this, he didn't know what he was doing. That's first," he added.
On Monday, December 29, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated about the alleged attack of 91 Ukrainian drones on Putin's residence in Valdai, Novgorod region.
Lavrov, who described this as "the Kyiv regime's final transition to a policy of state terrorism," said Russia's negotiation position would now be revised, though it generally does not intend to withdraw from the negotiation process.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuted the minister's words, calling them a lie.
According to Zelenskyy, Moscow is trying to create an informational backdrop for escalation, as progress in Ukraine-US relations is "a failure for the Russians."
"The Russians do not want to end this war. With their statement that some residence was attacked, they are simply preparing the ground to strike at the capital [of Ukraine] and at government buildings," emphasized the head of Ukraine.
In turn, the publication "Mozhem Obyasnit" revealed a number of facts that do not align with the picture painted by the Kremlin.
"MO" journalists interviewed 14 residents of the Novgorod region, including those living directly near Valdai. None of them noticed signs of a large-scale air battle.
"There was no buzzing that night, no explosions — even more so. If there had been something like that, the whole city would have been discussing it one hundred percent," the publication quotes one local resident. For a city with a population of 14 thousand people, the flight and downing of almost a hundred drones could not have gone unnoticed.
Residents of Valdai note that they always hear even the noise of helicopters used by Putin, but on the night and morning of the alleged attack, not a single report of explosions appeared on social networks or local chats.
