The issue of abolishing roaming between Belarus and Russia remains unresolved
The issue of the complete abolition of roaming between Belarus and Russia remains unresolved. This was reported by Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the "Union State", in an interview.

According to Sergey Glazyev, the task turned out to be more complex than initially thought, so the parties did not opt for the formal abolition of roaming, but rather for expanding preferential tariff packages.
As Glazyev noted, the volume of services and the duration of such packages have now been increased so that people, especially those who are in the neighboring country for a short time, practically do not feel the border crossing and can use their usual tariffs. Although roaming has not been legally abolished, basic communication services work under normal conditions for most subscribers.
At the same time, a number of technical issues remain unresolved, including internet access and the use of certain additional services. User identification procedures cause particular difficulties. Integration with the Russian "Gosuslugi" (State Services) portal is planned so that Belarusian citizens can undergo identification remotely while in their own country. In addition, this procedure has been simplified for Belarusians in major Russian cities, primarily Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The problem is also complicated by the so-called "cooling-off period," when mobile internet is disconnected for a day upon entry into Russia. The parties agreed that Belarusian citizens will be able to undergo identification in the same simple way as Russians, directly through their phone.
Although the abolition of roaming between the two countries has been promised for several years, and it was previously stated that all issues would be resolved by the end of the year, a final solution to this problem, it seems, is still not in place.
