It seems that the transition to civilian life for the former SSO commander is not without problems.

On January 12, the Ministry of Defense solemnly retired Major General Vadim Dzenisenka, the former head of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces, to the reserve.
He was awarded the Order «For Service to the Homeland» 1st Degree. «Thus, Vadim Dzenisenka became the first full cavalier of this order in the Armed Forces of sovereign Belarus,» the Ministry of Defense stated.
However, Dzenisenka attracted attention at the event not only with this, but also with his appearance.
This time, the general took off his enormous military cap and showed his hairstyle.

Vadim Dzenisenka was dismissed from military service to the reserve due to age on January 9. His first deputy, Alexander Ilyukevich, took the position of SSO commander.
Military special forces under Dzenisenka's command participated in the suppression of the 2020 protests. On August 11 in Brest, protester Gennady Shutov was shot dead by Captain Roman Gavrilov of the SSO brigade from Marjina Horka. At the trial, which found Shutov guilty, it became known that General Dzenisenka gave the order to issue combat weapons to special forces officers and advance to reinforce OMON.
