"Press cells" are closed cells where the administration deliberately places trusted criminals with prisoners to break their will.

With the help of information from former political prisoners, the names of those who were "pressers" in Grodno Prison No. 1 were revealed. A video about them was released on the "Partisan Wave" YouTube channel. Data about the men was also shared by "Cyberpartisans".

The first of them is Valter Aliaksandr Aliaksandravich, born in 1990. In April 2010, the 19-year-old Valter, along with a 41-year-old accomplice, committed one of the high-profile crimes of that time in the Slonim district. In the village of Zabullie, they attacked a farm where two elderly sisters, aged 78 and 75, lived.

For money, Valter and his accomplice inflicted multiple stab wounds to their faces, necks, and chests. Both women died on the spot from their injuries.

As stated in the investigation, during his sentence in the Navasady colony, Valter lost his criminal status and found himself in the lowest caste of prisoners. This particular moment made him an ideal tool for operational officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In exchange for working in "press cells", the man receives guarantees of safety and minor everyday privileges that are unavailable to ordinary prisoners.

The second executor of administrative tasks in the "press cell" is Dmitry Mikhailovich Krivosheev, born in 1982. The criminal history of the native of Zhlobin began at the age of 18. Krivosheev was homeless for a long time and had a whole string of convictions for thefts, robberies, and hooliganism.

Krivosheev was first convicted in 2000 by the Zhlobin District Court – he was then sentenced to 1 year and 6 months of correctional labor. Soon after serving his sentence, in October 2003, he again found himself in the dock: the Buda-Kashalyova District Court sentenced him to two years of restricted freedom for theft. However, already in January 2004, Krivosheev received 2 years and 3 months of imprisonment for hooliganism. In the same year, he fell under an amnesty and was released on parole in December.

The repeat offender did not stay free for long: in April of the following year, he again ended up in a strict regime colony for another theft. After another release, in the period from March to July 2009, Krivosheev committed a series of thefts and a robbery, for which he received 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment. But he again did not stay free for long after his release. In October 2012, the Frunzenski District Court of Minsk sentenced him to 2 years of strict regime for theft.

The final point came in September 2016: Dmitry Krivosheev was found guilty of group murder committed with particular cruelty. He was sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony, as well as compulsory treatment for alcoholism.

Both men, it is claimed, work under the supervision of officers of the operational department of Prison No. 1 — Aliaksei Taran, Siarhei Syravatkin, and Ihar Yakubenia.
