"According to plans, if all goes well with both the project's execution and the documentation part, then it will be the second half of 2026. That is, in the summer, the main building will already be closing. We will, of course, still announce this and organize a farewell to the works [exhibited in the museum].
I truly encourage visitors now, until June, while there is an opportunity, to come and enjoy. But not all works will be hidden: some works will move to the annex, and some will be shown at exhibitions. However, of course, most of the classical works of Russian art will temporarily be withdrawn for a rest. And some will go to the regions."
According to plans, the renovation should be completed by the end of 2027.
